For the longest time, we’ve heard a lot of talk about the possibility of Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez squaring off in an absolutely blockbuster superfight. Now, it’s finally coming to fruition. We’re set to see two of the best of this, or any other generation, collide in what promises to be an absolutely fascinating encounter.

Of course, fans are split regarding who they believe will win, but there’s a growing theory that Terence Crawford will be too much for Canelo Alvarez to solve – despite being the smaller man.

In a recent interview, Eddie Hearn weighed in on the debate and explained why he favors Terence Crawford to get the job done.

Eddie Hearn explains backing Terence Crawford

“Ring IQ, movement, controlling the fight with the lead hand, footwork, defense, calmness, and everything. It’s the self-belief. I can’t tell you how much belief Crawford has,” said Eddie Hearn to Fighthype. “He has no doubt in his mind that he beats Canelo, and he does it easily.”

“He very well could beat all the greats, but he never really got the chance. That’s why this fight is important to him,” said Hearn about Crawford. “After watching Canelo against Skull, I think he’s [Crawford] the fresher guy in there. I very rarely back against Canelo Alvarez, but it would not surprise me if Crawford won the fight.”
