Tyson Fury is a cheater, says rival Deontay Wilder

Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury

Deontay Wilder has called long-time rival Tyson Fury one of the biggest cheaters in boxing.

As we know, Tyson Fury is currently taking some time away from the sport of boxing. He claims that he’s retired, but as we know, it’s hard to work out whether or not he’s lying or telling the truth with things like that. Many believe that he’ll eventually return for at least one more fight, but that remains to be seen.

Someone that Tyson Fury has thrown down with on multiple occasions is Deontay Wilder. In their first meeting, Fury survived a late scare to claim a draw. In the second, Fury finished Wilder in vicious fashion. Then, in their trilogy fight, Wilder seemed to be on his way towards victory, until ‘The Gypsy King’ turned the bout on its head and finished him once again.

This weekend, Deontay Wilder will return to action by battling Tyrrell Anthony Herndon. Ahead of that collision, he opened up on what he thinks when it comes to Tyson Fury and his reputation.

Deontay Wilder hits out at Tyson Fury

“I mean, Fury is a cheater. He’s the biggest cheater in boxing. I know what he is, they know what they are. Of course, he’s the biggest [cheater] in boxing.”

“I don’t think he’s retiring. Maybe on ice a little bit, we do this. That’s why, everybody is different. They do their own thing. I don’t say things and then the next minute it’s like, I wanna get a reaction. I find peace in other things.”

We can’t imagine that Fury is going to care too much about these remarks. What he will care about, though, is the purse that he’s likely to receive if he decides to finally fight Anthony Joshua later this year.
