Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr On Par To Break Records In PPV Sales

With our comeback of the legends fight between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr inching closer and closer, promoters and insiders are confident in it breaking their record for pay-per-view sales.

This fight will take place at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California, on November 28.

“Numbers don’t lie. haters are mad they can’t get numbers like this. Saturday is reckoning. @RealRoyJonesJr you better be ready.”

PRNewsWire broke the news in the piece Tyson shared himself on Twitter. We also had Michael Weber, COO of FITE, who added the following:

“Currently, our advance sales for this event will make this the most watched event in our five-year history of streaming live sporting events.”

“Our partners are also reporting advance sales that will put it on par with other top UFC and boxing events in the past few years. We are looking forward to a very successful event this Saturday.”

“When this became even a potential reality, we realized this was so much more than a fight. Who doesn’t want to see Mike Tyson step into that ring again?”

He does have a point, though this fight wasn’t a must to put together. It is a fun type of fight though, it’s one that comes with a good deal of anxiety just watching it, but they are two real greats of the sport.

If they want to do it, regardless of whether they’re 51-and-54-years-old or not, let them do it.

The bout does come with its limits. It’s been scheduled for eight-two minute rounds, and it’s recently been announced there will not be a winner announced at the bout, and the commission won’t be scoring it either.

WBC did however say they would score it and announce a winner separately. It remains an exhibition of course, it won’t effect either of the combatants records. At the end of their respective careers, Tyson had a record of 50-6 (2 NC), and Jones had a record of 66-9.

This bout will of course take place on pay-per-view, where you can purchase it on cable, satellite, or stream it on TysonOnThriller.com.

This is a pretty rare encounter, we’ve got to admit, and they are literally two of the best to ever do it. They’re both former multiple-time world champions and knockout artists that had numerous extremely entertaining fights.

Who wins this epic comeback of the legends fight?
