Devin Haney Says Him And Shakur Stevenson Are On A Collision Course, Will Fight Soon

Devin Haney is confident he and Shakur Stevenson will share the ring soon.

On Saturday night, Haney defended his lightweight titles with a controversial decision win over Vasyl Lomachenko. After the win, Stevenson entered the ring and called out Haney which Haney and his dad Bill said hasn’t been discussed

โ€œBob ainโ€™t said [Stevensonโ€™s] name,โ€ Bill Haney said in reference to promoter Bob Arum (h/t BoxingScene). โ€œBob ainโ€™t said his name. My phone ainโ€™t ringing.โ€

โ€œYeah, Bob hasnโ€™t said his name at all,โ€ Devin Haney said. โ€œBut nah, listen, of course, Iโ€™ve been very vocal about that me and Shakur are on a collision course. Whether itโ€™s at 135, whether itโ€™s at 140, whether itโ€™s at 147, we definitely on a collision course. And we definitely gonna get it on when the time is right.โ€

Although Shakur Stevenson wants Devin Haney next time out, it’s uncertain that will happen.

According to Haney, he says a potential move to 140lbs still could be next so he’s uncertain what his next fight will be.

โ€œYou know, if I canโ€™t get those fights next or it doesnโ€™t make sense for it to be next, Iโ€™ll probably go to 140, test it out, see how I feel at the weight, at 140,โ€ Haney said during his press conference Saturday night. โ€œAnd then, when the time is right, then Iโ€™ll defend my belts at 135. Weโ€™ll just see, though. Iโ€™ve gotta go back and talk with the team and see what makes the most sense. Thatโ€™s really all it boils down to.โ€

Stevenson also was adamant that Lomachenko won, despite predicting Haney would win and saying he wanted that fight.

Who do you think will win, Devin Haney or Shakur Stevenson?
