Jake Paul Sends A Message To ‘Old’ Canelo Alvarez After Defeating Anderson Silva

Jake Paul has sent a message to Canelo Alvarez after he beat Anderson Silva by decision on Saturday in Arizona.

Paul was set for the toughest test of his career as he was taking on one of the best MMA fighters of all time and one of the best strikers of all time in Silva. The YouTuber-turned-boxer fought well and easily won a decision to improve to 6-0 and earned some respect for his name that he is a legit boxer.

After the win, Paul called out Nate Diaz but also mentioned Canelo Alvarez who’s someone he has wanted to fight for quite some time.

At the post-fight press conference, Paul once again took a shot at Alvarez as he claimed the Mexican is getting old and believes they will fight in the very near future.

“And you, too, Canelo,” Paul said at his post-fight press conference (via BoxingScene). “You’re getting old. You looked weird against Triple-G. I still want that fight as well. And I think now, like I said it 18 months ago, ‘I want Canelo!’ And then everyone, I was sitting in a room just like this said, and everyone was like, ‘[Laughing at me]. F***ing idiot, yeah.’ And then now, 18 months later, here we are. And when I say that, maybe people are taking it a little bit more seriously now. And I still mean it. And I still want that fight.”

If Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez do end up sharing he ring with one another it would be a massive fight. It would also be a huge step-up in competition for Paul, but the brash YouTuber-turned-boxer seems determined to get that fight and prove people wrong.

Paul (6-0) is coming off the win over Anderson Silva while before that, he had back-to-back wins over Tyron Woodley including one by KO. He also has knockout wins over Ben Askren, Nate Robinson, and AnEsonGib.

Do you think Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez will end up fighting?
