Manny Pacquiao is understandably favored to defeat Ryan Garcia.
After it looked like the eight-division champion would face Conor McGregor, the plan now seems to be for Pacquiao to face Garcia.
That’s according to Garcia as of earlier this week, at least.
“A dream turned reality ✨👊🏽 It’s an honor to share the Ring with @mannypacquiao I will always respect what you did in and out the ring. Here’s to the best Man Winning 🥊”
While Pacquiao is yet to respond to these rumors and reports, oddsmakers got to work and have opened the WBA welterweight champion as the betting favorite.
As per Bovada, Pacquiao is a -150 favorite while Garcia is a slight +120 underdog. That means you would have to bet $150 to earn a profit of $100 on Pacquiao while a $100 stake on Garcia would earn you $120.
This shouldn’t be much of a surprise.
While Pacquiao is 42, he’s still going strong having most recently outpointed Keith Thurman in 2019 to become the WBA (Super) welterweight champion.
Garcia, while talented, is still just 22 and has never competed above 135 pounds. However, he is coming off the biggest win of his career after bouncing back from a knockdown to TKO Luke Campbell earlier this month.
And those are enticing odds for those expecting Garcia to come out on top.
Who are you picking in this potential matchup?
