Mike Tyson Gives Advice To Deontay Wilder Ahead Of Tyson Fury Trilogy Bout

Mike Tyson has some advice for Deontay Wilder on how he beats Tyson Fury in their trilogy bout on Saturday in Las Vegas.

In the second fight, Fury was the one that came aggressive and forced Wilder to fight off his back foot. With that, Fury was able to control the fight and get the win. Now, ahead of the trilogy, Tyson believes Wilder needs to throw caution to the win and look for the KO early as he won’t be able to outbox Fury for 12 rounds.

“I like Wilder but is he going in there to win or is he going in there for a big payday? They should go all out for five or six rounds. If you catch him, you catch him. Go all out, win or lose,” Tyson said (via Boxingscene).

Evander Holyfield, like Mike Tyson, thinks Wilder shouldn’t be using new tactics. Instead, he thinks Wilder needs to go back to his old self and just search for the KO shot.

“In all these things you work on in being the very best. Is he getting it to the point where he can remember to do them as a natural thing? The worst thing you can do for a fighter is let somebody knew come in there giving him something new to do. They take it all of a sudden you start thinking too much,” Holyfield said to Fighthype.com.

“Boxing is a reaction sport. If you and me were boxing, you might not be comfortable, but I’m comfortable about how far I can get to for me to make you do something that I can counter a shot. The thing is with Deontay he started boxing at a late age. A lot of times when somebody starts boxing at a late age, they get one good style and that’s it,” Holyfield continued. “A lot of them don’t know how to make a lot of adjustments, so I don’t know if this is him [Wilder] or not. He’s one of my favorite fighters. Stick to what you’re really good at and implement it slowly, and maybe he can and maybe not.”

Who do you think will win, Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder?
