Devin Haney vs Jose Ramirez Betting Preview

Sometimes, you have to take time out to reflect and really examine what’s gone wrong in your career. For Devin Haney, he’s had that moment – and now, he’s ready to strike.
When he was defeated by Ryan Garcia and dropped on multiple occasions, Devin Haney’s entire world came crashing down on him. While you can argue that it’s been made better by the fact that it got overturned to a no contest, nobody can forget the visuals. Nobody can forget the sense of shock within the boxing community when they realised these two were still pretty close in ability, even after all these years.
Alas, that’s the past. Haney will want to focus on the future and on May 3rd, on the very same card as Ryan in Times Square, he will lock horns with Jose Ramirez. Some see this as the perfect lay-up fight for him, when in reality, that’s an incredibly insulting way to break this down.
Yes, he’s 3-2 in his last five fights, but the 32-year-old has a disruptive style when he really digs deep in a fight – especially if he’s being put up against someone like Haney who, more than likely, is going to be a bit short on confidence given everything that’s happened in the last twelve months.
Before we dive into the fight, though, we thought we’d let you know that if you’re interested in a demo roulette for free, we’ve got the perfect place for you.
It’s not by much, but Jose Ramirez is going to be the bigger man out of the two in this fight. In our view, using that to his advantage is the only feasible way in which he walks out of New York City with a massive upset victory. He needs to hold Devin, wear him down, get him against the ropes and try to rip the body.
We’re not convinced he has the speed or general ability necessary to keep up with Haney in a traditional boxing match, so he needs to make it dirty. It won’t make for much of a spectacle but given that Haney’s strategy will almost certainly be to point fight his way through it, you may as well steer into the skid.
With all of that being said, Devin Haney has a superb chance of winning this fight and everyone knows that. In reality, it all comes down to the psychological side of this game. Will he allow what happened against Garcia to really tear down what he’s been able to build? Or, alternatively, will it spur him on to be even better – and even more defensively sound – than he’s been in the past?
All eyes are going to be on Haney’s composure and if he’s able to get the win, which we’re almost certain of, then all ears will turn to his post-fight interview. The rematch with Garcia is what the people want, but we’re not convinced that it’s going to happen (yet).
Official prediction: Devin Haney via unanimous decision
