Khabib Nurmagomedov Was Offered Big Money To Fight Mayweather

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from MMA in October, 2020, following his victory over Justin Gaethje.

Whilst currently not active, Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz says his client was offered $100 million, to fight Mayweather.

Despite having no previous boxing experience, the UFC Lightweight champion was in talks to have this fight inside the ropes.

Abdelaziz told TMZ the fight was dangerous for Khabib, having no previous experience but was for an extremely large amount of money.

“Listen, we got offered $100 million to fight Floyd Mayweather. Dana White was on board, everybody was on board,” Abdelaziz said.

“But, you know, Khabib is an MMA fighter. If Floyd wanted to come to fight [in MMA] and get his little ass whooped, no problem.”

Mayweather is set to face YouTuber Logan Paul on February 20th, in an exhibition bout.

It isn’t the first exhibition Mayweather has been involved in, since retiring as a professional, with a record of 50-0.

Further talks between Khabib and Mayweather have not been confirmed, although Khabib says offers are always flying in.

“Always, like every month people call me and they ask me, ‘You going to fight with Floyd Mayweather if we pay you $100 million.’ It’s like crazy,” Khabib said.

“Every month, some people from Saudi Arabia, from Emirates, from a lot of countries, like always try to make contract with me.”

At this stage, it is unclear whether we will see Khabib fight competitively again.

There are still fans wanting to see ‘The Eagle’ fight Conor McGregor, once again.

Since it was one of the most heated rivalries in combat sports, fans hope it could be the one to bring Khabib back into action, potentially achieving 30-0.

UFC President Dana White recently made comments on his hopes for this rematch.

“In a perfect world, if Conor wins this fight [against Poirier], I’d love to see the rematch with him and Khabib. It’s the biggest fight that can be made, and it’s the fight that makes sense,” White said.

“When I fly out there [to ‘Fight Island’], Khabib is going to be there, too. I’m going to meet with Khabib while I’m there.”

Who do you think Khabib Nurmagomedov will fight next, if he comes out of retirement?
