Eddie Hearn wants to see Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2.

Taylor and Serrano fought last year in a massive fight and one that Taylor won by split decision in a very close fight. After the bout, many fans wanted to see an immediate rematch but that didn’t come to fruition and instead, Serrano will take on Erika Cruz on Saturday and should she win, Hearn hopes that leads to the Taylor rematch.

“No deal yet for Taylor-Serrano,” Hearn said before a press conference Thursday to promote the Serrano-Cruz card. “That’s the fight we wanna make in Ireland. Still work to do, but at the same time you’ve got Chantelle Cameron, you’ve got Alycia Baumgardner. They’re two options for Katie Taylor in May. We represent Erika Cruz as well, so we would like to see her win. But at the same time, you know, Taylor-Serrano II in Ireland is a massive event.”

There’s no question Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2 would be a massive fight and Eddie Hearn makes it clear he would be an idiot to not make the fight.

“That was such a special sporting occasion that doing it back in Ireland, we have to do it again,” Hearn said. “We just have to make sure we don’t let things or people get in the way. It’s just like the most natural rematch. We would be idiots if we didn’t make that fight. But we still have to go through the process of negotiating, making sure everyone’s happy. But hopefully, if everything plays out, everyone will be sensible and we can make it happen.”

As of right now, the fight won’t be happening next, but the hope is it can happen later this year or early in 2024.
